The “I Have Nothing To Post” Emergency Kit

We’ve all had those moments. Could be daily depending on how active you are.

You open IG, or you flip your camera around, and you have absolutely nothing to say.

Here’s your “break glass if you got nothing” emergency kit.

Ask yourself: What have clients been asking you about the most recently?

Is it rates? Is it the war in Iran? Are they asking about a specific neighborhood? Is it about the summer market?

Whatever it is, if multiple clients are trying to have conversations about it, that’s a good indicator you should create a post.

Don’t do the classic “a lot of people are asking me…” because nobody ever believes that.

Lead with a real hook:

“A client just asked me…”

“My buyer of 4 years just asked me…”

“The question I keep getting from sellers right now…”

The more specific, the more believable.

The personal opinion post.

I know it’s popular to say people like facts over opinions. But the truth is… they don’t on social media.

Pull out your camera or the Notes app on your phone and drop an opinion about your local market. Doesn’t even have to be real estate related. In fact, it probably shouldn’t be.

“I just ate at Hillstone last night and I’m convinced it’s a top 3 restaurant in LA. Here’s why.”

“Yes, we all know Tucson is too hot in the summer, but I actually like it because everyone leaves and there are no lines for anything. You can play 18 holes in 2 hours.”

“I know everyone likes Buzz Coffee, but I think it’s insanely overrated. My go-to spot is…”

Again, this can be a quick video or a screenshot of text.

It gets people talking in the comments, and it’s a REAL post with nothing salesy or overly educational about it. It just shows you care about something hyperlocal.

Trendjack.

What’s happening right now?

Summer. Graduations. Hotter weather. NBA Finals. World Cup is about to start.

Create around what people are already thinking about.

“Best bars to watch the World Cup this summer.”

“If you want to host a large dinner party for something like a high school graduation, here’s a place I would recommend…”

“Any Knicks fans here in Spokane? There’s a New York bar at…”

Boom. There you go.

Three frameworks to help you when you’re desperate for a post.
